Apple ceases iOS 14.2, iOS 14.2.1 code signing following iOS 14.3 release

Apple on Thursday stopped signing code for iOS 14.2 and the subsequent iOS 14.2.1 point update following December’s release of iOS 14.3.The cease of code signing comes nearly a month after iOS 14.3 was pushed out on Dec. 14 and effectively stops users from downgrading to an older version of the operating system.Apple regularly stops signing out-of-date code to prevent users from installing old iOS versions following the release of a new version, a practice that keeps users safe from new threats and ensures devices are running the latest feature-rich software.Read more…
