Apple is equipping its London Genius Bars with replacement world keyboards for MacBooks and considering stocking new MacBooks with American, Asian and other international keyboards beforehand of the 2012 summer season Olympics in the metropolis, consistent with a document from TUAW.
A high-degree Apple retail worker right here in London advised me as of late that the corporate is planning to inventory its London area retail outlets with world alternative MacBook professional, MacBook Air, and MacBook keyboards. this manner, the retail outlets can have the spare components readily available will have to world journalists desire a fast turnaround on a damaged computer.
As my supply told me, “London goes to be overrun through an onslaught of journalists when the games commence. We need to be prepared should they need assist with their equipment all through the time they are here.”
TUAW notes that together with the hundreds of athletes and different improve team of workers attending the Olympics, more than 10,000 print journalists are anticipated to be masking the video games, along with a lot of different bloggers, editors, photographers, videographers along with heaps of visitors — many of them Mac and iOS users.
The stocking of global keyboards can be essential for foreign Mac customers coming to town for the Olympics. typically, Apple stores best stock keyboards localized for the united states of america through which the shop is positioned, and international keyboards should be ordered one by one. this might be impractical for Mac users masking the games, as time will be of the essence on any repairs.
it is probably that the London-house retail stores will see a few of their heaviest visitors ever all through the summer season Olympics, and can have extraordinarily excessive staffing levels to arrange for it. London itself has 5 Apple retailers, including the Regent boulevard and Covent garden flagships.
The 2012 Olympic summer time video games will run from July twenty seventh thru August 12th.
