It’s almost time for the bulk of the latest batch of Apple rumors to end (and if the past few years have proved anything, it’s almost time for a whole new set to begin). Apple today released its schedule for the upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference and announced that it plans to hold its keynote on Monday, June 2 at the Moscone West convention center in San Francisco.
The keynote presentation itself will last from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. PST. The Cupertino company will almost certainly announce the latest version of Mac OS X during the event (the beta of which was recently opened to both average Joes and Janes and developers) as well as the latest version of iOS 8, which is rumored to have a heavy emphasis on health and fitness alongside improvements to Maps and other features.

Apple’s official app has also been updated for the event, although it appears to bring no new features in the vein of last year’s announcement of video coverage of key moments through the app. So far, Apple has simply changed the theme to favor orange instead of purple and tweaked the aesthetic to better match iOS 7.
9to5Mac‘s “sources” claim we’ll also see new hardware unveiled during the event, although it’s not clear if that refers to something relatively mundane such as new MacBook Airs or to something along the lines of the unveiling of the long-rumored “iWatch.”
