Apple has purchased a cellular security agency that counts lots of its mobile rivals as partners. Why? Apple may be eyeing fingerprint-based authentication for iPhones, or possibly it wants AuthenTec’s NFC-payment security technology for a future iPhone with cell payment capabilities.
