Apple loves controlling your entire experience of its merchandise, and for the iPhone and iPad, the biggest uncontrollable component is a consumer’s wi-fi service. Having a say within the SIM card, in conception, pushes Apple closer to the intention of controlling each aspect of its gadgets.
